This week’s Garage Hacks is a bit different, as we’re hacking your lunch break! On days when you have one meeting lined after another, a quick and convenient lunch is a must. Here are our favourite places that are within a 5 – 10 minute walk from Garage DVR, Garage QRC, and our new location in Sai Ying Pun Garage Collective. Have your own favourites? GARAGE DVR

URBAN BAKERY WORKS

Shop 322, 3/F, Landmark Atrium A great place for tried and tested lunch classics, Urban is best known for its cult favourite croissant sandwiches. Their salads are also super unique!

  • Try: Salmon Croissant Sandwich

KASA

61 Wellington St, Central Kasa does traditional Hong Kong food with a modern twist. Everything comes in small dishes, so you can try and test your favourites. The menu is also very vegetarian friendly.

HOME

Shop G01-101, Nexxus Building, 77 Des Voeux Road Central It doesn’t get earthier than this, guys. Reminiscent of Mana! Fast Slow Food for its emphasis on sustainability, Home is best known for its Earth Bowls and seriously detoxifying juices.

R&R BAGELS

28 Li Yuen St W, Central This place is also relatively new, but we’re already obsessed with it. Bagels are the things on the menu, and we’re perfectly happy with that. They also serve Allpress Coffee!

  • Try: Bacon Jam Bagel

CITY SUPER

Shop 1041-1049, 1/F, IFC Mall Yep, you heard us right. IFC’s premade food selection is actually impressive, and delish! They have a wide selection of lunch foods, spanning Eastern and Western cuisine.

  • In a nutshell: for days when you want to eat at your desk

  • Try: Pork Cutlet Bento

GARAGE QRC

LA ROTISSERIE

Hillier Building, 33 Hillier St Already a Garager favourite, La Rotisserie is a Sheung Wan staple for their traditional French-style roast chicken.

  • Try: Half Roast Chicken

DONBURI KINGS 

Hillier Building, 33 Hillier St Right next door to La Rotisserie, Donburi Kings is also on its way to cult status with its wide selection of every type of don your little heart desires. Note that this place is mainly for takeaway.

K-ROLL 

6A Bonham Strand Another classic Sheung Wan eatery, K-Roll offers all your favourite Korean dishes, fuss-free. We love the quaint shop as well!

POLOLI 

Shop B2, G/F, Centre Mark II, 305-313 Queen's Road Central Everyone loves poke bowls, so you can imagine our elation when Pololi opened up their second location quite literally downstairs at Garage QRC.

  • In a nutshell: first and best poke bowls in Hong Kong

  • Try: make your own!

LIN HEUNG KUI 

2/F-3/F, 46-50 Des Voeux Road West Simply put, this is hands down one of the best char siu places in Hong Kong. You know what they say: when in Hong Kong…you eat Char Siu.
