5 Daily Habits to Increasing Productivity

In the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong's fast-paced lifestyle, maintaining productivity and mental well-being can be a real challenge.

However, by implementing a few simple tips, we can make this journey easier as we work to cultivate positive habits to help look after ourselves during the ups and downs of our careers.

To delve deeper into the profound impact of good habits on our mental health, join us at the upcoming "Power of Habits" panel. Our esteemed experts will share valuable insights on staying productive and fostering positivity.

In the meantime, kickstart your productivity journey by exploring the five daily habits we've curated for you below. Get ready to unlock your full potential!

1. Getting enough sleep should be at the top of the list!

It sounds simple but not getting enough sleep can negatively influence your productivity. A lack of sleep can be damaging to your health and impact your day to day. For those of us who love to hit snooze on our alarms, doing so multiple times will disrupt your REM sleep which leads to you waking up feeling drained. So make an effort to hit those 8 hours and see how that helps elevate your productivity.

2. Re-energise yourself!

When we are working hard and building up constant stress make sure to take a moment to have a breather. Taking a break every hour can increase your creative thinking. Take a small break, have a walk, get some air and come back - you may find a new perspective appears!

3. Focus on yourself!

Don’t compare yourself with others! Your workplace can become discouraging when employees discuss each other's work issues or salaries. When it comes to comparing all the things you don’t have to certain employees who have what you want, your work would only add to your frustrations. Instead of making a comparison, try to think about whether you are doing the best you can right now with what you have.

4. Celebrate the small victories!

No matter how small, always celebrate your victories. Even if it’s remembering to pack your lunch that day or doing a small errand, acknowledge yourself for doing it! Doing so, reinforces good habits and paves the way to more opportunities for rewards.

5. Work stays at work!

No matter what, your work will always be waiting for you. Once you leave work, try not to carry the weight and stress of work with you. It’ll still be there waiting for you when you come back. Enjoy your weekend or any time you have off, to acquire a fresh perspective and live life to the fullest.
