Our 5th floor at our Ruttonjee Centre - Dina House space is now open, and it's been an exciting week as new members start making their offices home.
This floor adds over twenty private offices above our existing 4th floor on Duddell Street, with a casual cowork and lounge space upfront, two meeting rooms and a pantry bar area that is already becoming the busiest room in the building.
Why Central still matters
As the location we first started back in 2014 we know the magic that can happen at spaces right at the heart of the city. Clients know where it is, events are easier to attend, and a Duddell Street address on a business card carries a certain gravitas for any business. We're excited to be bringing this energy back to Garage and it's been great to have so many members from our other locations swing by the space to make use of meeting rooms or just work their for the morning when out on site visits.
With a premium location Central does bring premium pricing, so it helps to decide what the address does for your business before you sign anything. Our guide to the cost of coworking and a private office in Hong Kong explains what moves the price.

What the floor looks like
Step out of the lifts at 5F Dina House and you reach the lobby and our main reception. Our private offices run around the edges of the floor, from compact rooms to large offices for growing teams. Keycode entry, fully furnished and ready for you to hit the ground running in Central. With a large conference room for eight, and a smaller four person meeting room the floor is well appointed for private conversations along with casual space in our lounge and cowork area for catchups and informal gatherings near the pantry.
Teams that outgrow a room can often move within the building, since our existing floor is just downstairs.
A tilt towards fintech
It's been exciting to see several fintech companies already joining the floor, and we plan to host events to support the community over the coming months in partnership with the ecosystem.
Central already has a dense mix of finance, legal and consulting firms, and many of them depend on one another. A founder needs a good lawyer. An adviser needs a client who is ready to listen.
Those introductions often happen in a corridor or at the coffee machine, well before anyone books a meeting. No events calendar can fully arrange that so those casual connections happen in spaces like Garage Society Central.
If your firm works in or alongside that world, a desk or an office here puts you on the same floor as the people you would otherwise be trying to meet.

Who a private office in Central suits
A private office suits teams that take confidential calls, meet clients on site or want a base that staff will actually turn up to. It also helps when a licence application asks for a dedicated, enclosed space.
If your team works independently and needs a Central address only now and then, coworking or a Dedicated Desk may cost less and still look sharp on a business card. Our guide to coworking and a serviced office goes through how to decide, and the Central location page shows what is available now.
